About
The caterpillars of the lesser yellow underwing moth hatch during the warmer months and spend the winter months in a dormant state while still small. These nocturnal feeders munch on a diverse range of herbaceous plants, making them adaptable to various environments. In the spring, they can also be found feeding on small deciduous trees, such as Blackthorn and Hawthorn. They can easily be identified by the two black wedges dorsally on the last two segments.
