About
The thick-legged flower beetle is a fascinating insect, easily recognisable due to its metallic green colouration and the large bulges on the femora of the male’s hind legs. Adult beetles appear on warm sunny spring days. They are excellent pollinators and can often be found on umbellifers, dandelions, and oxeye daisies, making them adaptable to just about any habitat that offers plenty of suitable flowers. The larvae are difficult to find and live inside plant stems.
