About
Two species of tortrix moth feed on a wide range of garden plants in the UK.. The carnation tortrix (Cacoecimorpha pronubana) is common and often found on ornamental plants such as hollyhock, sweet pea, and carnation. In contrast, the light brown apple moth (Epiphyas postvittana) can be found feeding on a more diverse range of plants including apple trees, blackcurrants, and roses. These caterpillars usually bind leaves together with silky threads and feed within whilst protected from predators.
